Description
Unlike most new Nintendo DS flashcarts this one doesn’t run commercial games instead it focus’ on multimedia using a built in multimedia chip to do the decoding.
Playback
From my testing it can run many video codec’s and supports a number of container formats but High Definition content will not run at anywhere near full frame rate. I’ve noticed a few synchronization issues when scrolling back and forth through movies, the auto desyncs by about a second or so, its not a huge issue and will likely be fixed with a new firmware.
Firmware
The firmware looks like its based on the acekard rpg firmware, but is still very different. Its easy to use easy to skin. What more could you ask for?
Extra Features
While this cart doesnt support commercial games it does have atleast one of the usual features homebrew softreset and it does it very well soft resets back to the firmware within 1 second which is by far the fastest I’ve seen.
Conclusion
+ Great Interface
+ Good amount of supported media formats
+ Homebrew Soft Reset
- No Commercial rom support
- Battery life is approximately 4 hours
- No SDK to use multimedia chip in homebrew.
